While young Nikita anxiously begins his military service, Svetlana travels through Belarus in search of justice for her son, who was murdered during military training. It is the year 2020 and activists rage on the streets of Minsk against the state violence rooted in the "Dedovshchina", the cruel mistreatment that supposedly turns boys into soldiers, but is instead the very mechanism of fear and violence that the government uses to control its population.
