This documentary shows how another form of justice works in Niger, that exercised by a "cadi", a judge of peace who uses the Koran as his reference.

In Agadez, Niger, as elsewhere, there are police officers and court hearings. But alongside this, another judicial system exists, living heritage of a muslim tradition. The 'Cadi' is a judge of the peace who uses the Koran as his reference. 'Cadi' court hearings are scenes where a whole society is represented in a magnificent and moving way. They also offer the opportunity to take a closer look at muslim lifestyles, freed of clichés and trivialities.
